LIONS CLUB Chapter
The Larkspur Champions Lions Club - Come join a special chapter of this international charitable organization and you can: perform community service, run your own meetings, and visit other Lions Clubs. This club celebrated it’s 10th anniversary last year and was recently featured in an international magazine!
Dates: 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month
Time: 6:00 - 6:30pm optional social time, 6:30 - 7:30pm meeting
Where: Larkspur Rec Department Community Room, 240 Doherty Drive, Larkspur
Price: $50 initial fee to join & $35 for each 6 month membership. Scholarships available. If you've never visited, please call for the invitation!
In 1997, with the assistance of REC Inc, 36 clients chartered the Larkspur Champion Lions Club. there are thousands of Lions Clubs worldwide but this is only the second one made up and run primarily of adults with developmental disabilities. They meet twice a month, work to raise money for charitable donations and attend regional Lion’s Club functions as well as attending other local Lions Club events. Outstanding Accomplishments include: Past President Erik Peerand won District Lion of the Year, raised over $3000 for the Salvation Army with kettle bellringing, donated to Hurricane relief efforts, and more.
