REC Inc's sponsored Weight Watchers group, offers peer support and is tailored to client needs on education, nutrition and healthy living.

Weight Watchers - Interested in getting healthy with the support of your friends? Learn the basics of nutrition and getting fit. The teacher is fantastic. She does cooking segments, keeps everyone engaged during classes, and gets Weight Watchers freebies. As a whole everyone is losing weight slowly (as the doctors say they should) and are keeping it off. Please call to verify session dates and times.

Dates: Tuesdays nights - 10 week sessions - start anytime!
Time: 5 - 6pm (come at 4:30 to socialize and weigh in!)
Where: Larkspur Rec Department Community Room, 240 Doherty Drive, Larkspur.
Price: $109.00 for each 10 week session.

REC Inc sponsored Weight Watchers group offers peer support and is tailored to client
needs on education, nutrition and healthy living. Group discussion instructs and
encourages a healthy life style and choices, proper foods, attitudes and physical activities.
Instructor Dixie James is a fantastic role model and body builder who instructs gently, is never judgemental and provides much needed information and encouragement. Dixie stresses the need to make smart choices, move more each day, and “Know how to eat better to live,” to a mixed group of developmentally disabled and community at large members.

Important lessons on avoiding food advertising pitfalls and how to read a label are essential to making successful food choices. Do you know what “guar gum“ is? (a thickener - healthy) Or
how about “monosodium glutamate?“ (a flavor enhancer - not healthy!) How much saturated fat versus unsaturated fat can you eat? Come to Weight Watchers with your nutritional questions
for Dixie to explain. You can even bring in favorite food items to get evaluated during
the class! Most everyone is losing weight slowly, as is recommended ...and are keeping
it off! All are welcome to join - come and make new friends!
